Enrac USA
Formed in 2007, EnracUSA is the North American branch office of ENRAC®, Inc. ENRAC
organizes seminars worldwide to train physicians and other medical professionals in CMT and to
foster the research and application of CMT.
In June, 2002, Dr. Ko established the Painless Ginza Clinic in Tokyo, the first clinic in Japan
specializing in the treatment of intractable pain. The clinic has gained the approbation of many
Japanese doctors and of patients who suffer from intractable pain. Patients and doctors from all
over Japan and from other countries have visited the clinic and found a new treatment that offers
renewed hope to pain patients.
As the waiting list grew longer and longer at Painless Ginza Clinic, Dr. Ko started giving seminars to
educate Japanese physicians in CMT in order to reach out to more patients. In 2003, Dr. Ko shared
his new findings with physicians and researchers in Taiwan. Since then, over a thousand Japanese
and Taiwanese physicians have been treating their patients with CMT, and scores of research papers
on CMT have been published. When a physician has been trained to use CMT, the impact
sometimes extends to his/her entire department within a hospital or medical school, resulting in the
"conversion" of most physicians within the department.
In 2006, the echoes of impact reached the United States. That November, Duke University Medical
Center invited Dr. Ko to give the first CMT seminar in the US. Three more seminars were held at
Duke in 2007 and 2008. While recognizing that there are many worthy causes in the world, Dr. Ko
desires to devote his life in making the world a little healthier (and happier) through the research and
application of CMT.

Dr. Shan-Chi Ko
Dr. Shan-Chi Ko was born in Taiwan. After graduating
from the medical school at Japan's National Kagoshima
University, Dr. Ko worked at the Department of
Anesthesiology and ICU at Japan’s Kyushu University
Hospital and the Radiology Department at National
Kyushu Cancer Center. From 1985 through 2001, he
established two clinics in Fukuoka and Koga where he
served as an internist.
Throughout his career as a physician, Dr. Ko searched for
different ways to treat pain. Not content with the
treatments available in today’s conventional medicine, Dr.
Ko studied acupuncture at Shanghai University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology. After
returning to Japan, he devoted himself to the pursuit of a
more effective pain treatment. Over the next seven years,
and with more than 7500 clinical case studies, he
developed a new theory for treating pain: By stimulating
two pressure points, most local pains can be noticeably
reduced almost immediately. (This theory was later
refined to treat CNS-related symptoms as well.) His
theory was published in the Shanghai Journal of
Acupuncture and Moxibustion (2001, 6th Issue). In
February, 2002, Dr. Ko publicly presented “New
Dimension in Pain Therapy: Distant Point Immediate-
Effect Press Therapy”, which he later named “Collateral
Meridian Therapy” (CMT). His presentation was well
received by the 120 doctors in attendance.
